n our age of globalisation, emerging economies like Brazil, Russia, India and China represent significant opportunities for global business. Not surprisingly, according to the CBI (2012) an overwhelming 72% of businesses say they value foreign language skills, most importantly for building relations with overseas contacts (39%). The major European languages continue to be the most in demand (German 50%, French 49%, Spanish 37%), but languages like Mandarin (25%), or Arabic (19%) are gaining significant importance. or
